Its a bit of a humbling and overwhelming thing to be given the role of CABN Theatre & Performance Advocate. There is little time and a lot to do!
What I hope to achieve is,
- To map out a clear route to help people looking to produce work, be able to do so.
- See what support is out there from local and national agencies at each step along the way.
- If some of the National agencies can provide services in this region.
- Create a directory of people who are developing work based in D&G or can help in the process.
- Create a directory of organisations that provide opportunities that could support local artist develop tour work.
The aim of the above is to encourage a more permeable relationship between DG based artists and the rest of Scotland and the UK. The hope is that CABN can increase awareness opportunities and support available. So that more artists based in D&G can devleop work, take it to new audiences, and ultimately be able to make a good living from what they do.
